argh. well computer still isn't fixed..maybe tomorrow can get the data recovered. the options at this point are
1) use the Windows 2000 Registry Repair utility from Microsoft (just came out a month ago)
2) use a program to reset the Win2k admin password
3) try Fast Repair without an ERD (probably won't work)
i sort of want to wait until all my data is backed up first though...
anyway, i just started an experiment on my devices..will have to come back to the lab tonite. right now i'm going to go work out. anyway, i hope i get some decent data from this..since i haven't been able to do anything all week.
