20 miles!!

we had our 20 miler this morning! it was tough getting up at 5:15 am (to leave at 6am for Wellesley, so we could leave there at 7 and get to Hopkinton & start running around 8am). It was a pretty good run..it took me about 4 hours to do. It only got really hard after mile 17.5, when it started getting hilly. But we luckily we didn't have to do Heartbreak Hill, which is around mile 21. That's going to be hard on marathon day!! Hopefully by then my leg muscles will be strong enough to get through it without too much pain. :)

If you look closely at this picture, you can see that the Garmin says 20.00 miles. Woo=hoo..my longest run ever!! I never thought I could do something like this! :)

busy, busy

these past few weeks have been insanely busy.two abstract deadlines (March 30th and 31st), plus a lot of soap and candy-making to do. :) I'm up to $1642 in my fundraising, which is about 65%. I guess it's good considering that for the past week the Team In Training site has been down, and so my personal page for the Boston Marathon (where people can make online donations, etc) has been inaccessible. Right now the general Team in Training site is up, but my personal Page still doesn't work....i hope they fix it soon so I can update my fundraising and training log.

Oh, and tomorrow is our 20 miler!!! I can't believe i've made it this far. Who could have though that little old me could run 20 miles. I never thought I could actually do it!

zuibun isogashii!

which is why i haven't written lately.

let's see, what's been going on? Well, Sunday (the 13th), i ran a half-marathon in Boston's Run to Remember. This half-marathon felt a lot better than the one I ran in October of 2003 (IOW, I didn't feel like i was dying at the end of it). My time was only 2 min better than previous time, but that's ok...i was still recovering from a cold that i caught on Tuesday (which, prevented me from training all week).

oh, and i'm at 61% of my fundraising (so far, $1,530). I'm still selling the soaps and candy (see http://soap-for-hope.hopto.org, and http://candy-for-a-cause.hopto.org).

ja...tottemo isogashii kara, kore dake desu. ato de, motto kakimasu
